A special visit from NUFC
On Wednesday 2 October we were visited by Rory Finneran and Adam Harrison, academy footballers at Newcastle United Football Club.
Rory and Adam were asked some fantastic questions by our year 4, 5 and 6 children. Rory is a defensive midfielder who has also represented his country (the Republic of Ireland) and Adam is a goalkeeper. We were also joined by Julie Smith from the Newcastle United Academy who is coordinating the project.
This visit was part of our ongoing collaborative work with Newcastle United Football Club.
We also have our half termly challenge with Newcastle United taking place right now in school themed around the value of 'collaboration' (working well together). Children can earn NUFC collaboration points by demonstrating that they are working well with others. The top 3 children with the most collaboration points at the end of this half term will win an amazing prize that money can't buy: to visit St. James' Park Stadium for the morning, meet & interview members of the NUFC team and then enjoy lunch in a box at the stadium!
We really value the ongoing collaborative work between all of the West End School's Trust (WEST) schools and Newcastle United Football Club.
