Welcome to Lemington Riverside
Welcome to a primary school that embraces innovation and takes pride in being truly unique.
At Lemington Riverside Primary School, we are an inclusive and vibrant community at the heart of Lemington, overlooking the beautiful River Tyne. We cater for children aged 3 to 11 and are a one-form-entry school, with one class per year group, allowing us to build strong relationships and a close-knit school environment.
Our home is a striking Edwardian building, featuring bright, spacious classrooms, well-equipped libraries, ICT facilities, and inspiring outdoor spaces. In addition, our on-site community hub provides a wide range of activities, services, and support for pupils, families, and the wider community.
We believe primary education should offer far more than academic achievement alone. While our children leave us with strong outcomes, they also take with them rich experiences and lasting memories. Our unique “Lemington Riverside Experience” offers a diverse programme of cultural, creative, and sporting opportunities.
Our dedicated team of teachers and support staff bring enthusiasm, expertise, and innovation into every classroom. They engage in ongoing professional development and educational research to ensure our curriculum remains ambitious, engaging, and relevant.
We are also proud of our exceptional pastoral care. With access to an in-house counsellor, occupational therapist, and a broad network of specialist support, we ensure every child receives the guidance and care they need to flourish.
At Lemington Riverside, we describe ourselves as “bravely different and proudly unique” — unafraid to think creatively and committed to doing what is best for our children and community.
We warmly welcome prospective families to visit us. If you would like to arrange a tour, please get in touch using the contact details on our website — we would be delighted to meet you.

Over the past couple of weeks, pupils have been sharing their ideas about how the area around school could be improved, and we would now really value your views.
Members of the Walk Wheel Cycle team will be in the playground on Monday 30th March from 3:00pm at pick-up time to speak with parents and carers and gather feedback.
Please take a moment to read our full letter on the school website to find out more and how you can get involved > https://www.lemingtonriverside.newcastle.sch.uk/News/We-need-your-views/
A huge well done to our Lemington Heroes for the week ending 27 March 2026.
Well done to Mrs. Heeley's Nursery class who are our attendance champions this week with 98%!
A special well done also to Mrs. O'Driscoll who receives our first ever 'Staff Hero' award - where our children nominate a member of staff for something brilliant that they have done!

Thank you so much to everybody who voted in our local charity non-uniform day poll.
We are pleased to share that the charity we will be raising money for next Thursday will be the Children's Heart Unit Fund (CHUF). CHUF help children with heart conditions and their families, they support life-saving equipment, pioneering research, and holistic care to ensure every child can thrive and reach their full potential.
On Thursday 2 April, children are welcome to come to school in their own choice of clothes - we are asking for a suggested voluntary contribution of £1 towards our chosen charity.
Thank you!
