Welcome to Lemington Riverside
Welcome to a primary school that embraces innovation and takes pride in being truly unique.
At Lemington Riverside Primary School, we are an inclusive and vibrant community at the heart of Lemington, overlooking the beautiful River Tyne. We cater for children aged 3 to 11 and are a one-form-entry school, with one class per year group, allowing us to build strong relationships and a close-knit school environment.
Our home is a striking Edwardian building, featuring bright, spacious classrooms, well-equipped libraries, ICT facilities, and inspiring outdoor spaces. In addition, our on-site community hub provides a wide range of activities, services, and support for pupils, families, and the wider community.
We believe primary education should offer far more than academic achievement alone. While our children leave us with strong outcomes, they also take with them rich experiences and lasting memories. Our unique “Lemington Riverside Experience” offers a diverse programme of cultural, creative, and sporting opportunities.
Our dedicated team of teachers and support staff bring enthusiasm, expertise, and innovation into every classroom. They engage in ongoing professional development and educational research to ensure our curriculum remains ambitious, engaging, and relevant.
We are also proud of our exceptional pastoral care. With access to an in-house counsellor, occupational therapist, and a broad network of specialist support, we ensure every child receives the guidance and care they need to flourish.
At Lemington Riverside, we describe ourselves as “bravely different and proudly unique” — unafraid to think creatively and committed to doing what is best for our children and community.
We warmly welcome prospective families to visit us. If you would like to arrange a tour, please get in touch using the contact details on our website — we would be delighted to meet you.

Our Year 5 children, along with Year 5 children across the West End School's Trust (WEST) have been working on an exciting project with the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) and the Theatre Royal this year.
Tomorrow (Friday 26 June), after many months of rehearsals all of the year 5 classes will join together on an outdoor stage at Broadwood Primary school to perform 'A Midsomer Night's Dream'!
We are so proud of how hard all of our children have worked for this performance, whether they are acting on stage, or supporting with the technical side of the performance!
IMPORTANT INFO FOR Y5 PARENTS/CARERS: Please ensure your child arrives at school for 8:45am tomorrow morning so that our mini bus (LemiBus) can depart on time!
