Welcome to Lemington Riverside
Welcome to a primary school that embraces innovation and takes pride in being truly unique.
At Lemington Riverside Primary School, we are an inclusive and vibrant community at the heart of Lemington, overlooking the beautiful River Tyne. We cater for children aged 3 to 11 and are a one-form-entry school, with one class per year group, allowing us to build strong relationships and a close-knit school environment.
Our home is a striking Edwardian building, featuring bright, spacious classrooms, well-equipped libraries, ICT facilities, and inspiring outdoor spaces. In addition, our on-site community hub provides a wide range of activities, services, and support for pupils, families, and the wider community.
We believe primary education should offer far more than academic achievement alone. While our children leave us with strong outcomes, they also take with them rich experiences and lasting memories. Our unique “Lemington Riverside Experience” offers a diverse programme of cultural, creative, and sporting opportunities.
Our dedicated team of teachers and support staff bring enthusiasm, expertise, and innovation into every classroom. They engage in ongoing professional development and educational research to ensure our curriculum remains ambitious, engaging, and relevant.
We are also proud of our exceptional pastoral care. With access to an in-house counsellor, occupational therapist, and a broad network of specialist support, we ensure every child receives the guidance and care they need to flourish.
At Lemington Riverside, we describe ourselves as “bravely different and proudly unique” — unafraid to think creatively and committed to doing what is best for our children and community.
We warmly welcome prospective families to visit us. If you would like to arrange a tour, please get in touch using the contact details on our website — we would be delighted to meet you.

What’s Happening...
On Thursday 2nd April, we’re inviting all children to take part in a non-uniform day to celebrate the end of term and support a fantastic cause 💛 All children wearing non-uniform on this day are asked to make a suggested voluntary contribution of £1 on the day.
At Lemington Riverside we like to do things a bit differently, instead of supporting big national fundraising events, we’re proud to focus on local charities making a real difference in our community.
👨👩👧👦 Families can vote for one of three incredible charities, and all money raised on the day will go to the charity with the most votes!
💛 Children’s Cancer North
Supporting children and families affected by cancer for over 40 years, this charity funds groundbreaking research, provides vital family support, and raises awareness of childhood cancer across the North East and Cumbria.
❤️ Children’s Heart Unit Fund (CHUF)
Helping children with heart conditions and their families, CHUF supports life-saving equipment, pioneering research, and holistic care to ensure every child can thrive and reach their full potential.
💚 Children North East
Working to improve the lives of babies, children and young people, this charity provides mental health support, family services, and community programmes to help children feel safe, supported and confident.
