Welcome to Lemington Riverside
Welcome to a primary school that embraces innovation and takes pride in being truly unique.
At Lemington Riverside Primary School, we are an inclusive and vibrant community at the heart of Lemington, overlooking the beautiful River Tyne. We cater for children aged 3 to 11 and are a one-form-entry school, with one class per year group, allowing us to build strong relationships and a close-knit school environment.
Our home is a striking Edwardian building, featuring bright, spacious classrooms, well-equipped libraries, ICT facilities, and inspiring outdoor spaces. In addition, our on-site community hub provides a wide range of activities, services, and support for pupils, families, and the wider community.
We believe primary education should offer far more than academic achievement alone. While our children leave us with strong outcomes, they also take with them rich experiences and lasting memories. Our unique “Lemington Riverside Experience” offers a diverse programme of cultural, creative, and sporting opportunities.
Our dedicated team of teachers and support staff bring enthusiasm, expertise, and innovation into every classroom. They engage in ongoing professional development and educational research to ensure our curriculum remains ambitious, engaging, and relevant.
We are also proud of our exceptional pastoral care. With access to an in-house counsellor, occupational therapist, and a broad network of specialist support, we ensure every child receives the guidance and care they need to flourish.
At Lemington Riverside, we describe ourselves as “bravely different and proudly unique” — unafraid to think creatively and committed to doing what is best for our children and community.
We warmly welcome prospective families to visit us. If you would like to arrange a tour, please get in touch using the contact details on our website — we would be delighted to meet you.

No donation is required, this is just a great opportunity for us to celebrate a happy national sporting moment together as a community!
If children would rather wear their uniform for the day, that's fine too!

Ofsted and the Care Quality Commission (CQC) are carrying out a joint Area SEND inspection across Newcastle from 29 June–17 July 2026.
This is not an inspection of our school (we had our own Ofsted inspection at Lemington Riverside last week!). It looks at how education, health and social care services work together to support children and young people with SEND across the city.
If you are a parent or carer of a child or young person with SEND, we encourage you to share your views by completing the Ofsted survey by 9.00am on 7 July 2026. Your feedback will help inspectors understand families' experiences of SEND services in Newcastle.
Any parent/carer of any child with SEND in Newcastle aged 0-25 can complete this survey, they do not have to attend Lemington Riverside.
