'The Bridge' children showcase their art work at Baltic!

A group of talented children from The Bridge at Lemington Riverside Primary School have been working on a very special art project – and now their incredible work is on display at the Baltic Art Gallery on Gateshead Quayside!

As part of the Baltic Stars project, the children spent eight weeks working with artist Katie Watson, exploring the shapes, textures, and colours of the natural world. They experimented with mark-making techniques, using a variety of recycled and repurposed materials to create unique artwork. Throughout the project, they tested out different artistic mediums, including painting, printmaking, sculpture, spray-painting, and drawing.

The result of their hard work is a stunning exhibition called "Our Mark on Nature," which will be displayed at the Baltic until 27th April 2025. This project has not only developed the children’s artistic skills but has also given them the confidence to express themselves in new and exciting ways.
