Newcastle Local Authority Inspection for SEND

We would like to let parents and carers know that Ofsted and the Care Quality Commission (CQC) will be carrying out a joint Area SEND inspection across Newcastle from 29 June to 17 July 2026.

This inspection looks at how well education, health and social care services work together to support children and young people aged 0–25 with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). It is not an inspection of individual schools (Lemington Riverside had our own inspection last week), and no judgements will be made about our school as part of this process.

As part of the inspection, Ofsted and the CQC are inviting parents and carers of children and young people with SEND to share their experiences through a short survey.

Your feedback will help inspectors understand how local SEND services are working across Newcastle. The survey is open until 9.00am on Tuesday 7 July 2026.
