Welcome to Lemington Riverside
We are Lemington Riverside Primary School, a proudly inclusive school at the heart of our community. We educate children from the age of 3 up to 11.
Our school is a magnificent Edwardian building, with spacious classrooms, break out spaces, libraries, ICT facilities and an exciting outdoor environment. We also have a community hub on site, providing additional activities, services and support to our children, families and the wider community.

TERM DATES: You can see all of our term dates for the 2025/2026 school year at this link: https://lemingtonriverside.newcastle.sch.uk/Term-Dates/
BUILDING WORKS: We have had some very exciting and transformational building work taking place in school this summer. We can't wait to share more updates about what has changed very soon! Watch this space!
SCHOOL MEALS: You can view our new menu for 2025/2026 at the link . A reminder that school meals cost £2.50 per day for children in Nursery, Years 3/4/5/6 unless your child is entitled to income related free school meals. Children in Years Reception, 1 and 2 are entitled to universal free school meals. If you pay for your child's school meals and find that you are struggling to keep up with costs, please reach out to us to chat this through more. https://lemingtonriverside.newcastle.sch.uk/School-Meals/
DATES FOR YOUR DIARY: All of the important dates for your diary are now in the school calendar online. This includes Christmas concert dates (I know, aren't we organised!), school photos days and other events booked in the school diary. This diary is regularly updated so do keep checking back. You can also see the diary through the Greenhouse Schools App. https://lemingtonriverside.newcastle.sch.uk/Diary/
ATTENDANCE: Your child attending school on time for 9 every day is hugely important for their education and also their wellbeing. You can out more about how we reward great attendance and actions we have to take when attendance is causing a concern at this link: https://lemingtonriverside.newcastle.sch.uk/Attendance-Policy/
UNIFORM: We were very proud to be able to provide all children with a free uniform bundle ahead of the new school year. If you want to purchase more uniform with our school logo on you can do so at Elite Embroidery at Bells Close. You can buy other items for school from supermarkets such as Tesco/Asda. We also have our pre-loved uniform stall in school with lots of spare uniform available in a range of sizes at no cost to families, just drop us a call on 0191 267 4315, option 4 and let us know what you need. Remember, as a school we are happy for children to wear comfortable shoes such as trainers, but children's toes must remain covered so no Crocs/sandals please. We are also happy to wear plain dark jogging bottoms instead of school trousers if they prefer to. More details about our uniform can be found here >> https://lemingtonriverside.newcastle.sch.uk/uniform/
RIVERSIDE WRAPAROUND: Our before and after school paid-for wraparound provision continues from September every school day. It is available from 7:45am each morning until the start of the day and from the end of the day until 6:00pm each evening. In 4 years of having a wraparound provision in school we have never increased costs and operate on a totally not for profit basis. Because of this, we must insist that bookings are made at least 24 hours in advance via the school office and that payment is received in advance of your child attending. Find out more about Riverside Wraparound here>> https://lemingtonriverside.newcastle.sch.uk/Curriculum/
FREE BREAKFAST: We are delighted to confirm that we will continue to offer a free optional breakfast (toasted bagels with butter) every morning between 8:45-9:00am for all children who would like one.
TRIPS, VISITS AND CLUBS: We continue to work very hard to ensure all of our trips (including residentials) are free of charge to parents/carers. Money is tight for all of us and our aim is to ensure school does not become an extra financial burden for our families - we also want do not want any children missing out on opportunities in school because of cost barriers. Unfortunately, school budgets continue to be very tight and we will continue to do our very best to continue this offer for as long as we can - but rest assured nothing changes for now.
BOGGLE HOLE RESIDENTIAL FOR YEARS 5/6: We are so excited that our year 5 and 6 residential takes place to Boggle Hole, near Robin Hoods Bay in North Yorkshire on Wednesday 10th-Friday 12th September. All of the information you need for the residential can be found here: https://lemingtonriverside.newcastle.sch.uk/Boggle-Hole-2025/
Our main communication channels in 2025/2026 will be the Greenhouse Schools app (we no longer send out paper newsletters) - we also post updates and celebrations from school via our Facebook page.
We can't wait to see you all next week!
