Lemington Heroes: 3 July 2026

This afternoon we have celebrated our Lemington Heroes for the week ending 3 July 2026.

Today has been an incredibly fun day as we also had our 'Attendance Streak' winners trip to the Metro Centre - 15 lucky children who were in school, on time for every day in our attendance streak challenge, were drawn out in last week's assembly to visit Waterstones to buy a book of their choice, followed by lunch in McDonalds!

During our assembly today, we presented our West End School's Trust (WEST) Shining Star award to James from Year 2. James was nominated by staff for his incredible progress during his time at Lemington Riverside as well as being a wonderful friend to others. His award was presented by John Anderson, Chair of the WEST Board of Directors. It was lovely for James' mum, dad and little brother to also join us for the celebration. Well done James!

Well done to Mr. Sayers' Year 6 class, who are this week's attendance class champions with 98%!

In school today, we also invited children to wear red, white and blue to celebrate England reaching the last 16 of the World Cup! The next game takes place versus Mexico at 1:00am on Monday (6th July) - therefore, we have made the decision that as a school we will be offering a full screening of the match, for those children interested in watching, at 9:15am on Monday morning.

We also set the challenge in our assembly to try not to share the score before school on Monday (good luck with that one!). For those children not interested in watching the game on Monday, we will be having a practical, fun-filled morning with an alternative offer of crafts, sports, gardening and computing activities across school.
